EPA's GHG Emission Factors Hub was designed to provide organizations with a regularly updated and easy-to-use set of default emission factors for organizational greenhouse gas reporting. Key sources for emission factors include:
- EPA's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program
- Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks
- EPA's Waste Reduction Model (WARM)
- Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Fifth Assessment Report (AR5)
The 2025 annual update of the Emission Factors Hub (January 2025) includes updates to emission factors for purchased electricity from eGRID, mobile combustion, upstream and downstream transportation, business travel, product transport, and employee commuting. For the first time, grid gross loss percentages for each eGRID subregion have been added to table 6 which can be used to calculate scope 3, category 3 activity C (T&D losses).
Download the latest version of the Emission Factors Hub as well as previous versions in the table below. Guidance on the use of EPA's Emission Factors Hub's waste emission factors versus the Waste Reduction Model (WARM) is also available.
