This recipe takes a traditional Passover treat, and gives it a little twist. Here, dried fruit and nuts are chopped in a food processor, flavored with cinnamon and moistened with a bit of pomegranate juice for a Sephardic version of the recipe. They’re rolled into balls, and dusted with unsweetened coconut. Feel free to substitute any dried fruit or nuts you’d like.

My family did not trust in my cooking skills until I bring a similar Sephardic haroset truffles to the family Seder six years ago. This recipe is easier than my old one. The truffles are delicious and look beautiful at the Seder table

So easy to make and they look good. They taste like Larabars. I used pecans instead of almonds and orange juice since that's what I had in the house. Probably will make a version of these with some oats as energy bars in the future.

Mark

Excellent. I have someone who is allergic to pistachio so I used almonds, pecans, and sunflower seeds. I chose to roll the truffles in ground almonds. They look great and taste great as well.

Molly

I used cherry juice instead of pomegranate and everyone loved them!

Muriel

Just made this, added a tbsp of sweet wine after the tbs of juice. Very good!

Joyce

Sounds delicious. I'll probably make these tomorrow. I wonder... would a coating of chocolate ganache improve them ? (Assuming no dietary restrictions, that is.)

I am allergic to pomegranate, hopefully a substitution with Cherry juice will work just fine! These sound excellent!

They taste like Larabars! I was into this recipe until the reference to Larabars. Different taste for different folks. I cannot think of a more unpleasant taste than Larabars. I'm back to my Shepardic recipe.
