Attention, Xbox fans! A major shakeup is happening with Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and we've got the inside scoop for you. Brace yourself for a price hike, but also a chance to save big!
Microsoft recently announced a $10 monthly increase for its flagship subscription, bringing the new cost to a whopping $29.99 per month. But here's the catch: you can still lock in the old rate on Amazon and save yourself some serious cash.
For those who act fast, you can purchase an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate digital code on Amazon for the old price. That's three months for just $59.99 or one month for $19.99. Compared to the new rate, that's a savings of nearly $30 every three months! And get this, these codes are stackable, allowing you to prepay for up to 36 months. Imagine saving a total of $360 over the next three years!
But here's where it gets controversial... the new price is already in effect for new subscribers, and existing subscribers will see the increase soon. So, what's Microsoft offering to justify this price hike? Well, they've added a whopping 45 titles to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, including the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy and several Assassin's Creed games. Ultimate subscribers will also get access to 75 day one releases annually, a 50% increase from last year. Plus, they've included Ubisoft+ Classics and Fortnite Crew, giving access to select Ubisoft games and Fortnite Battle Pass with 1,000 V-Bucks monthly. And this is the part most people miss... Ultimate subscribers can now earn up to $100 per year just by playing games!
As for the other Xbox Game Pass plans, there's a mix of changes. Xbox Game Pass Core has been rebranded to Essential, and the Standard plan is now Premium. Premium remains at $14.99 monthly but has expanded access to PC games, including Diablo IV and Hogwarts Legacy, and unlimited cloud gaming. Essential, on the other hand, stays at $9.99 monthly but now includes 50 titles across console, PC, and cloud. Premium subscribers can earn up to $50 per year by playing, while Essential subscribers can earn up to $25.
And the price increases don't stop there. Microsoft is also raising the price of its Xbox Series S and X consoles, with the Series X jumping to $649.99 and the Series S to $399.99. But wait, there's a deal to be had! You can currently grab the Series X for $549.99 and the Series S for $329.99 on Amazon.
So, what do you think about these changes? Are the improvements worth the price hike? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! We'd love to hear your opinions and spark a discussion about the future of Xbox Game Pass.
