How to pair and activate my smartwatch (2024)

If you have an Apple Watch with cellular connectivity, you can connect it to the Bell Mobility LTE network by signing up for a Smartwatch Standalone plan.

This lets you or your family member have a dedicated phone number for the Apple Watch to make calls, send messages and stay connected.

To set it up, you need to pair the smartwatch through Apple Family Setup and then activate a cellular plan.

The Apple Watch with cellular connectivity has an eSIM (a built-in SIM card), so you don’t need a separate SIM card.

What you need:

• An eligible Apple Watch: Watch Series 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Watch SE, Watch SE (2nd generation), Watch Ultra.
• An eligible iPhone: iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14 or later for the initial watch setup. Make sure that your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network and has Bluetooth switched on.
• An Apple ID for yourself and one for the family member who will use the Apple Watch. Your Apple ID needs to have two-factor authentication turned on.
• A MyBell profile associated with the primary phone number. Register for MyBell if you haven’t already done so.

Setting up a Standalone plan:

1. Follow the instructions provided by Apple to pair your smartwatch.
2. Once pairing is completed, you will be prompted to set up cellular. TouchContinue Set up Cellular.
3. Select your province and touchContinue.
4. SelectAdd to an existing Bell Mobility Account.
5. Enter your MyBellusernameandpasswordand touchLog in.
6. Select a Smartwatch plan if prompted.
7. Select a city and touchContinue.
8. Select your phone number and touchContinue.
9. Confirm your email address and touchContinue.
10. Review your order and touchContinue.
11. Read the Terms and touchAccept & submit.
12. Activate Wi-Fi calling and touchContinue.
13. Review the Wi-Fi calling terms and touchAccept & continue.
14. Edit your emergency address and touchContinue.
15. Review your address and touchConfirm & continue.
16. Wi-Fi calling is now active. TouchContinue.
17. Your Apple Watch is now activated and paired using Family Setup. TouchDone.
