Do you enjoy eating cereal and oatmeal? Chances are yes, everyone likes cereal!

Sadly, the fun is over.

There’s now something far worse than all that sugar in those cereals you ate growing up.

Glyphosate in cereal and oatmeal is harming us all.

I say “all” because it’s not just in cereal.

From Lucky Charms to Cheerios, most non-organic cereals will contain the glyphosate herbicide.

But sadly, it’s also made its way into certified organic oats and oatmeal products. We go over this,

Then share the best oatmeals and oats without glyphosate to buy for you and your family.

The Glyphosate in Cereal & Oats Problem

Each year around 250 million pounds of toxic glyphosate weed killer from Bayer-Monsanto are sprayed onto American crops alone. And this is just in the U.S.

Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup, the most popular store-bought herbicide in the U.S., and likely worldwide.

This “systemic herbicide” which plants suck up into all their parts we eat cannot be washed, baked or cooked off.

And if you think you’re safe from it because you don’t eat vegetables or fruit, well if you’re not sourcing clean meats then you can ingest glyphosate from meat and poultry too.

Much of the beef on store shelves today is from cows fattened with a heavily-sprayed “Roundup Ready” corn.

If you’re not eating truly organic and grass fed meats, you’ll find it hard to avoid glyphosate.

This is the state of things in America and the reason why you must try to grow your own food or eat organic and non-GMO as much as possible.

Glyphosate Has Ruined A Once-Honest Breakfast

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (2)Pin

Is it a coincidence that glyphosate is more often found in children and kid foods as compared to those marketed to adults?

Why does it seem like there is an attack on our young ones?

Of course Bayer-Monsanto say glyphosate is safe, but let’s look at a what the other health agencies and government health organizations currently still say about glyphosate’s safety:

  • EPA says it’s safe (minimal risks).
  • WHO says it’s “probably carcinogenic” to humans.
  • California EPA acknowledges that it is known to cause cancer.
  • European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) says it’s unlikely to pose a carcinogenic threat.

Have we been targeted through food in the past?

The once-honest breakfast statement needs to be further evaluated given the true history of John Harvey Kellogg and his corn flakes.

Whether it was some anti “self-pollution” campaign for young men, or cow feed pushed onto the people, the fact is, before the dubious Kellogg and scientific wheat breeding programs, wheat was a nutritious diet staple.

This 2019 EWG article that follows up on a 2018 Environmental Working Group found 21 food makers like General Mills still making popular kid cereals loaded with glyphosate.

Below are 21 popular food brands and their products from May the 2019 EWG-commissioned study. Each its glyphosate levels at parts per billion (ppb).

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (3)Pin

As you can see, Cheerios were the worst.

Even though these agencies all have their “acceptable number of Glyphosate ppb“ benchmarks, the only real acceptable number is 0.

There should be no glyphosate in food.

Especially not in popular children’s cereals.

In this other EWG article titled, “10 Food Companies Join EWG Glyphosate Petition,” a harrowing fact about Roundup glyphosate is revealed:

Over the past 25 years, the EPA has increased the amounts of glyphosate residue allowed on oats 300-fold. The first increase, to 20 ppm, was granted in response to a 1997 petition from Monsanto, when farmers around the world first began using glyphosate widely as a late-season desiccant. It was increased to the current 30 ppm level in 2008.

90% Of Families Have It In Their Bodies <— INSANE

And children have more weed killer in their bodies than adults.

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (4)Pin

A 2019 bio-monitoring study commissioned by The Center For Environmental Health (CEH) used an independent lab to study glyphosate levels within parent-child pairs. Nine of the children had higher amounts of glyphosate in them than their parents.

Half had twice the amount of glyphosate in their bodies as compared to their parents.

And one child had almost 100% more.

A new study by Center for Environmental Health (CEH) found over 90% of families tested had glyphosate in their bodies. The study sought to determine whether children are more exposed to Monsanto’s toxic weed killer than their parents. The results were unequivocal.

The lab found nine of the children had higher concentrations of the weed killer in their body than their parents. Half of the children had twice the amount of glyphosate in their body as their parents, and one had nearly 100 times more weed killer in their body.

You can learn more about the results of this study on this useful “Glyphosate Factsheet” created by the CEH.

Glyphosate Weedkiller Usage Goes Berserk

Farmers and oats brands who look at dollar signs before health use this toxic herbicide as a pre-harvest drying agent. They use this cancer-causing herbicide to dry out plants, so they can harvest them and sell them off to be turned into food faster.

They make sure to soak our foods in glyphosate.

The majority of us are too busy to pay attention, so they go on dumping chemicals into our foods. Because it is a slow death and a slow punishment to our bodies (which are our temples), we seem to ignore it.

Ever wonder why 1 out of 2 people gets cancer now? Autoimmune diseases?

My guess is weedkiller in our everyday foods is one of the many likely unfortunate factors.

But yet it remains in popular store-bought foods and in most the foods in public school lunch menus.

Look at the ingredients of today’s Honey Nut Cheerios:

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (5)Pin

I’d like to look at the ingredients list of the same cereal box in the 1950’s.

If you can find one can you please let me know.

My guess is that the Cheerios from the past are night and day different. The only thing the new labels are missing are “glyphosate”. It should be on there because it’s become a main added ingredient.

But what about “Organic” Cheerios?

If any supposed glyphosate-free cereal brand is owned by one of the glyphosate-heavy oats brands, why give them your money at all?

The only companies deserving purchases from us are those without any ties to the toxic food producing companies.

  • Annie’s? Bought out by General Mill’s.
  • Kashi? Owned by Kelloggs.

These two brands above, Annie’s and Kashi, do actually provide oats and cereals without glyphosate. But I’ve left them off the main list as I wouldn’t buy them if I had other options.

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands (Plus, Oats and Cereals)

1. Nature’s Path Foods – Cereal & Oatmeal

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (6)Pin

To start things off, Nature’s Path Foods is a company offering various types of oats without glyphosate.

From Blaine, Washington, Nature’s Path offers a wide range of oats and cereals (especially after acquiring Country Choice Organic). These include:

  • Cereals
  • Granolas
  • Oatmeals
  • Toaster pastries
  • Waffles
  • Snacks

Nature’s Path Foods oats and cereal are:

  • USDA Certified Organic
  • Non-GMO Project Verified
  • Not certified free of glyphosate, but the company is openly against its usage.

Above are 3 popular glyphosate-free oatmeal products from Nature’s Path. Of the three, the Brown Sugar Maple Instant Oatmeal is the only gluten-free option.

Nature’s Path Foods have MANY great oat options to choose from.

Here are my top 3 after the ones above. Each completely worthy of being featured above:

  1. Golden Turmeric Superfood Oatmeal Cups – with whole grain steel cut and rolled oats.
  2. Gluten-Free Homestyle Instant Oatmeal – 8 pack – Gluten-free rolled oats
  3. Quick Cook Steel Cut Instant Oatmeal – 8 sachets per box

Nature’s Path Foods are a big company with three additional brands under their portfolio; Envirokidz, Love Crunch and Qi’a.

But they won’t go the way of Annie’s or Cascadian Farm, and let themselves be purchased by General Mills.

Or by way of Kashi and how they sold to Kellogg’s.

As the Stephens family, who are the originators of the Nature’s Path Foods brand, still sit amongst its board of directors, and remain as passionate as ever for honest and truly organic food production.

We are passionate about being independent because we can chart our own path and take a stand for things that we believe in.

Whether that’s protecting endangered species, supporting the non-GMO and organic food movement, or other initiatives like regenerative organic certification.

Nature’s Path Co-Founder Arjan Stephens in Non-GMO Report interview

I received a comment on this Glyphosate Free Oatmeal Brands post sharing that they called Nature’s Path, and that Nature’s Path said they don’t test for glyphosate.

Does this mean their certified organic testing doesn’t test for glyphosate? Some select oats come up as glyphosate-free in third-party tests.

They seem to address the situation when questioned about it at the bottom of this post’s comment thread, but the answers given by Nature’s Path are also a bit questionable.

Competition can easily stoop down to blog post commenting, so there are many factors to consider. Nature’s Path seems transparent and adamant to be against glyphosate, but that commenter required some highlighting and deeper looks.

2. Back Roads Granola – Oats & Granola

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (13)Pin

Back Roads Granola make an excellent glyphosate-free granola if that’s what you’re in the hunt for.

  • The Detox Project Certified Glyphosate-Residue Free
  • Non-GMO Project Verified
  • USDA Certified Organic
  • Family bakery from Brattleboro, Vermont.
  • Glyphosate and vegetable oil FREE granola

BACK ROADS Organic Maple Pecan Granola, 10 OZ

  • Low carb
  • Low sugar
  • Non-GMO project verified
  • One 10 ounce bag of maple pecan organic paleo granola
  • USDA organic

Back Roads Granola are certified Glyphosate-Residue Free (Detox Project) and it’s nice to see they purposefully do not use any engine lubricant, I mean canola oil, in their granola recipes.

Here is how they break down their own company:

Peter is master baker and in charge of operations. Virginia is in charge of sales, marketing & all things customer service.

Daughter, Coral recently moved back to Vermont from Boston and is heading up the online marketing efforts. Our friend, Barb helps run our office.

We answer your phone calls & emails and we hope to personally meet you when we are on the road doing demos and correspond with you through Social Media outlets.

Back Roads Granola

You think Kelloggs could fake being this homegrown and family oriented, let alone small and trustworthy?

Their website shop (not an affiliate link) features all of their certified vegan, gluten-free and glyphosate-free products.

You have to go for quality when it comes to oats and granola, and Back Roads Granola offers us a pure quality option.

3. Farm To Table Foods – Ancient Whole Grain Oatmeal

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (15)Pin

Farm To Table Foods is a great glyphosate-free oatmeal brand. They do not have any glyphosate-residue free certification, but they are certified USDA Organic.

I have added them to this list because they are open about not using glyphosate on their oats as an herbicide or desiccant when questioned about it on their Amazon product listing page questions section.

  • 5-Grain Rating on Cornucopia’s Cereal Scorecard
  • USDA Certified Organic
  • Open about not using glyphosate
  • Sources only from conscientious farmers

3 Recommended Farm To Table Foods Oatmeal Products

  1. Apple Raisin Oatmeal – USDA Certified Organic oats, flaxseeds, apples and more goodness
  2. Organic Ancient Super Grain – Uses organic Kamut khorasan, an ancient wheat that is not hybridized.
  3. Plus the bulk version of the organic ancient wheat

Farm to Table Foods grains are whole and they put just as much emphasis on taste, so you’re not getting spoonfuls of organic oats that taste like cardboard..

..although that would still be better than a mouthful of roundup weed killer oats!

It’s refreshing to see company ethics in line with what you want for food you feed yourself and your family.

Farm to Table will not compromise its integrity. In a perfect world, people all over the country would be able to enjoy the bounty of our products.

However, if expansion means neglecting our commitment toward the finest ingredients, or that we can’t afford to create products that meet big box store pricing strategies, so be it.

We won’t be there. If necessary, we’ll remain a niche product for the select few who insist on top quality ingredients and a gourmet offering.

– Farm to Table Foods Our Story page

The company truly stands for integrity.

But it would be better if they had a glyphosate-residue free certification.

That organic seal should mean that the domesticated cereal grass (Avena sativa) grown for the oats, will not contain or use glyphosates, insecticides, synthetic fertilizers, desiccants, antibiotics or GMOs for any part of the growing, harvesting, processing or packaging of the oats products.

But Certified USDA Organic brands of oats have tested for various levels of glyphosate residues as we’ve seen in past EWG conducted studies, so it will take more than just that to ensure glyphosate-free oats.

For example, like how Farm To Table Foods only source from conscientious organic farmers.

Farm To Table believe in supporting small scale sustainable agriculture and seek these out on top of their organic certifications.

Hopefully they’ll also get the glyphosate testing certifications once they become more prevalent, asked for or even demanded.

5-Grain Rating On Cornucopia’s Cereal Scorecard

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (21)Pin

The first 3 brands featured on our glyphosate-free oats brands list have a “5-Grain” rating on The Cornucopia Institute’s Cereal Scorecard List.

  1. Nature’s Path
  2. Back Roads Granola
  3. Farm To Table Foods

All 3 were classified as exceptional or exemplary by the Cornucopia Institute.

They have great flavors and are certified glyphosate-residue free. These instant oatmeal cups come in single serving 5 ounce (141 gram) cups.

MUSH overnight oats are from San Diego. Being southern California born and raised, I had to add them to this list. But this Roundup-Free Oatmeal Brands list placement also has something to do with the fact that MUSH are one of the very few certified glyphosate-free overnight oatmeal brands

MUSH cups are a little smaller than they used to be: Their instant oatmeal cups used to measure out to 4.0 x 2.0 x 1.5 inches and contain 6 Ounces of instant oatmeal. The new packaging now measures out to 3.2 x 3.2 x 1.95 inches, and holds now an ounce less with 5 Ounces (141 grams) within each MUSH Instant Oatmeal cup.

Great flavors if that’s a top criteria for you: If overnight glyphosate-free oats are what you’re in search of, MUSH’s clean whole rolled oats come in tried and true oatmeal flavors such as Apple Cinnamon, Strawberry and Dark Chocolate, and much more!

Here’s a quote from the “Ingredients” section of their site.

MUSH Overnight Oats elevates your nutrition to a whole new level. Plant-based, protein rich, high in fiber, gluten free, dairy free, artificial flavor & color free, preservative free, filler free- all in a 6 ounce package.

MUSH

They should add “glyphosate-free” to their list benefits because most other overnight oats cups are not free of it.

More people than they know are actually looking for this exact thing (clean wheat)!

5. Mylk Labs – Instant Oatmeal Cups

Mylk Labs instant oatmeal cups are high quality and glyphosate-free.

They’re a great alternative to MUSH overnight oatmeal cups.

Unique flavors:

  • Coconut Cinnamon
  • Apple Cinnamon
  • Blueberry Maple
  • Strawberry Vanilla
  • Roasted Almond
  • Pink Salt

Mylk Labs are refreshingly transparent in the way they showcase their certifications. Unfortunately, however, they have not secured any type of roundup-free certification.

Mylk Labs certifications:

  • Non-GMO Project Verified (ID# C0478579-NGPBRO-4-V1, NSF International, 2022)
  • Certified Gluten-Free (ID #77045, GFCO, 2022)
  • Woman-Owned Certification (#WBE2001335, WBENC, 2022)
  • Kosher Certified (Orthodox Union, 2022)

In the year 2024, in order for me to trust an oats product I or my family will consume, it’s almost necessary for the brand to show proof of being glyphosate-free. And if not, then to at the very least be certified organic.

I added Mylk Labs to this glyphosate-free oats brands list after reading this article they published, titled “Why We Only Source Glyphosate-Free Oats“.

However, Mylk Labs are not certified organic.

And they don’t have the Detox Project’s Glyphosate-Residue Free Certification.

But they are adamant about sourcing glyphosate-free oats.

So I take it that as long as they keep going, it’ll only be a matter of time before they add these important certifications to their current respective certifications list.

6. GrandyOats by Grandy Organics – Rolled Oats & Granola

Roundup-Free Rolled Oats & Granola

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (25)Pin

Granola that’s organic, gluten-free and glyphosate-tested?

The brand is Grandy Organics. They’re from Maine and their oats with no glyphosate go by the name of GrandyOats.

Your search for quality granola need not go any further than here, GrandyOats.

Established in 1979 and starting off with their Classic Granola, today Grandy Organics’ GrandyOats line are all certified to be Glyphosate-Residue Free by The Detox Project

  • The Detox Project Glyphosate-Residue Free Certified
  • USDA Certified Organic
  • Non-GMO Project Verified
  • Dairy Free
  • Kosher
  • Wholesale and bulk purchase options

If you’ve trained your tongue to not need sweet things, then you’ll appreciate this granola. The tinge of organic honey used in the granola comes from a nice wildflower honey. It’s a perfect low level of natural sweetness.

They’re also featured on Cornucopia’s Cereal Scorecard.

From gluten-free granola to Swiss style muesli, every single ingredient is organic.

You can see for yourself.

Here is their Classic Granola’s list of ingredients.

Grandy Oats Classic Granola Ingredients:

Organic Oats, Organic Honey, Organic High Oleic Sunflower Oil, Organic Sunflower Seeds, Organic Sesame Seeds, Organic Pumpkin Seeds, Organic Unsweetened Coconut, Organic Walnuts, Organic Cashews, Organic Wheat Bran, Sea Salt, and Organic Vanilla (water, organic alcohol, organic vanilla bean extractives).

More Grandy Organics Highlights:

  1. GrandyOrganics Grandy Oats are produced inside fully solar-powered facilities.
  2. Their resealable bag doesn’t break on you.
  3. They have many other great oats products on their website such as muesli, steel cut oats, granola and more.
  4. They also have non-oats products which are great too (which you won’t find on Amazon). I’m a fan of their Coconola Grain-Free Granola.

7. Laird Superfoods PickyBars – High Protein Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (29)Pin

Another excellent product to add to the glyphosate free oatmeal brands list 2024 update is Laird Superfood’s High Protein Oatmeal.

If you need extra protein and a clean, glyphosate-free oatmeal, LAIRD will become your new go-to!

Only 2 Certified Roundup-Free From Laird: Ex-pro surfer Laird Hamilton and his wife Gabby Reece are the founders Laird Superfoods. They have many superfood, plant-based products, however, only these two are certified glyphosate free:

  1. Trail Mix Fix – Gluten-Free, Glyphosate-Free Trail Mix
  2. How Bout Dem Apples – High protein “Performance Oatmeal” certified USDA Organic

Trail Mix Fix: Ingredients include gluten-free oats. Coconut sugar, Real chocolate chips (also organic and sweetened with organic Cane sugar), dates, sea salt and a few other trail mix ingredients. Trail Mix Fix is clean trail mix with Roundup-free oats you can trust.

How ‘Bout Dem Apples?: Ingredients include rolled oats, dried apples, coconut sugar and ginger… all certified organic. But this high-protein oatmeal is not gluten-free.

More On The Laird Superfood Company:

They were invested in by Danone Manifesto Ventures in September of 2019, but Laird and Gabby husband and wife duo kept control and the majority of the stock. They’re also now listed on the American Stock Exchange.

We’ve seen certified organic oats test positive for glyphosate before, so whether that means that their other oats and products have Roundup residue in them or not we don’t know without testing.

They did take the effort to get two signature oats products tested and certified glyphosate-free. This does say a lot.

8. Simple Truth Organic Instant Oatmeal

Simple Truth Organic Instant Oatmeal is a glyphosate free instant oats product that has tested free of the carcinogenic herbicide for longer than most.

  • USDA Organic Instant Oatmeal
  • Non-GMO
  • Gluten-Free
  • Kosher
  • No Preservatives
  • Only instant oats to test glyphosate free in EWG’s initial 2018 glyphosate testing done.

While it’s not on The Detox Project’s list, this organic instant oatmeal is certified Non-GMO and USDA Organic. And it was the one that tested 100% free of Roundup on one of the initial Roundup testing sweeps that happened on oats brands in 2018 as this herbicide issue started to reach mainstream media outlets.

That 2018 Environmental Working Group commissioned glyphosate study (2018 Glyphosate Tests In Oat Cereals And Snacks) with Simple Truth Instant Oatmeal testing completely glyphosate-free can be viewed in full online. View the full 2018 EWG study results PDF here.

Simple Truth Organic Instant Oatmeal (Original) was the ONLY instant oatmeal that tested 100% glyphosate residue free when the Environmental Working Group ran their initial testing back in 2018.

Almond Cow rightfully and proudly displays the Detox Project’s Glyphosate Residue Free emblem on their groats product packaging.

It’s always good news when you see a new oats brand added to The Detox Project’s Glyphosate-Residue Free list of certified products.

Want their groats recipe? When browsing the Almond Cow website, I found an awesome oatmeal recipe that uses their whole grain oat pulp. And they say it can be made even better if you use the groats themselves versus the pulp alone.

Tips For Finding Healthy Alternatives To Glyphosate-Tainted Oats & Wheat Products

  • Only buy products certified as glyphosate-residue free.
  • Always be mindful about what wheat and oats products you eat.
  • Choose certified organic AND certified glyphosate-free if possible (organic should be glyphosate-residue free, but that’s not always the case).
  • Wheat starch breaks down into glucose. If you’re doing a paleo, keto or carnivore diet, then you’ve found the ultimate glyphosate-problem solution.
  • Try not to go hang out in herbicide-sprayed parks. Go to natural spaces that aren’t groomed for perfect looks at your expense.
  • You can start with our list of glyphosate-free oatmeal brands and cereals!

Find Glyphosate Free Oats Through Product Certifications

1. The Detox Project Glyphosate Residue-Free Certification

List Of Glyphosate-Free Oatmeal Brands - 2024's Best (39)Pin

The Detox Project is a research organization that provides glyphosate free certifications to oats brands that pass their Glyphosate Residue-Free Certification tests. This is the glyphosate-free cert. to look for when buying oats (or wheat products) within North America. It helps identify oats brands that are truly organic and free of Roundup herbicide.

The products on their list are all certified glyphosate-free according to their own tests which run through a third party ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.

2. BioChecked Non Glyphosate Certified™

Here’s another less prominent certification that glyphosate free oats brands can use.

BioChecked™ is the company, and they have trademarks on both Glyphosate Free Certified™ and Non Glyphosate Certified™.

One Degree (oats) and Ezekiel (sprouted grain cereal) are now certified Roundup-free through BioChecked™. Both these brands now use the Non Glyphosate Certified BioChecked seal on their packaging. I’ll likely add them both to the main list.

Each product must meet and maintain our ZERO Tolerance* threshold for glyphosateand be tested regularly by anISO 17025 Accredited Laboratory. An ISO/IEC 17025ISO/IEC 17025 the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC).

BioChecked™ on their glyphosate free certification.
  • LC-MS/MS Method – BioChecked™ have a LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry) method glyphosate testing requirement.
  • *ZERO Tolerance – A product needs to show no glyphosate residues detected. The “LOD” or the lowest Limits of Detection possible, which is likely 0.01 parts per million (ppm), is what this ZERO Tolerance goes down to.

3. USDA Certified Organic

The USDA Organic certification should mean the food is real (not GMO) and free of any toxic chemicals or antibiotics. Even further, a truly certified organic seal means no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides of any sort were used at any point of its production or processing. Here’s how they regulate things.

  • The USDA conducts at least one onsite inspection per year
  • USDA audits their certifiers
  • Products taken through Residue testing program
  • “Robust compliance and enforcement activities”
  • Learn more on how organic products are regulated on the official USDA Certified Organic webpage.

4. Non-GMO Project Verified

“Non-GMO Project Certified” does not equate to “Glyphosate-Free.”

Whereas certified organic should technically have zero glyphosate residues, “Non-GMO Project Certified” simply refers to its status as being genetically modified or not.

This certification is a good complimentary certification to have alongside glyphosate-specific testing certifications like that of The Detox Project’s.

But a Non-GMO Project Certification will have no telling on whether the product you’re looking at was treated with glyphosate or not at any point in time.

Bonus Breakfast Choice: Ancient Wheat

Not an oat, but they share a long history and the same modern day Roundup herbicide problem.

Einkorn Ancient Wheat: Today’s hybridized wheat is typically going to be Triticum aestivum. Einkorn wheat is an ancient wheat variety with a binomial name of Triticum monoccum.

Ancient wheat is better than today’s unsafe hybridized wheat forms (Triticum aestivum).

Ancient wheat varieties like Einkorn, Emmer and Spelt don’t have anti-nutrients (gluten, lectins, phytic acid) like our modern-day products resulting from hybrid wheat breeding.

While not completely related to oats and oatmeal, there is plenty of crossover and clarifying this difference between oats and wheat will help you in your natural living quest!

Oats vs Wheat

Oats (Avena sativa) are a completely different crop to wheat crops. At first Avena sativa (oats) was considered a weed. They started to be cultivated for food not long after ancient wheats began being harvested..

It’s a wonderful thing to be able to update this post sharing good news on this topic.

In the most recent glyphosate study by the EWG, a large reduction of glyphosate levels was detected across all the products tested. It included popular oatmeal and cereal brands such as Gerber, General Mills, Kellogg’s and Quaker Oatmeal.

Although 30% of the products tested still had high levels of glyphosate, it’s great news to see the advocacy around the completely unnecessary and toxic desiccation of wheat and oats seem to be helping.

We need to see more test results to believe it, but this is quite a contrast from the previous tests in 2018 and 2019 that also came from the EWG.

Glyphosate In The EU

Glyphosate is approved for use across the EU, where it was concluded that it wasn’t that bad basically, until December 15, 2023.

In 2022, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) carried out ahazardassessment of glyphosate andconcluded that it did not meet the scientific criteria to be classified as a carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic substance.

While Reuters is reporting that the EU will probably extend its glyphosate usage another 10 years, in the coming months they’ll decide on this again and hopefully they will take a cue from other EU member states like Austria, Germany and France who are already starting to ban or severely restrict glyphosate usage.

Final Thoughts

Monsanto dumps toxic weedkiller on wheat in order to help it dry out faster so they can capitalize on profits.

So what’s the solution for the end user… us?

The solution is to stop supporting these faceless corporations who buy out popular USDA Certified Organic brands, i.e. Kashi (with Kelloggs) and Annie’s (with General Mills).

Transparency among food companies is part of the solution. As should be supporting small, honest and transparent companies that care more about people than about maximizing profits.

Thanks to the rising awareness among families worldwide who’ve become aware of this major glyphosate in cereal and oatmeal issue, we now don’t have to grow our own wheat as the only way ensure we’re not getting poisoned by oats. We now have a very helpful certification in the U.S.

A few years ago it was much more difficult to find trustworthy glyphosate-free oats brands.

A few years before that, it was nearly impossible to know if you’re buying oats without glyphosate. Today, as you can see from this oatmeal without glyphosate list, we are now able to find untainted oats with ease.

This is so because of the organizations out there like The Detox Project and now other certification called BioChecked™ making a real positive impact on one of today’s massive problems in the U.S. and worldwide. Be sure to come back to check the list as I will update it with more glyphosate free oats brands as they come out.
