Naomi Watts opens up about her hopes and dreams for her teenage children, offering a rare glimpse into her personal life. In a heartfelt conversation with Maria Shriver and Alisa Volkman at The Swell's Menopause Symposium, Naomi shares her aspirations for her kids as they navigate adulthood.
"I have two teenagers, and it's an exciting time as they embark on their own journeys. My son, Sasha, is now 18 and thriving in college, while my daughter, Kai, is already pursuing her passions at just 16. As a mother, I hope for their happiness, health, and kindness above all else."
But here's where it gets interesting... Naomi's journey to motherhood was not without its challenges. In her own words, she "always dreamed of being a young mother" but found her path to parenthood later in life. When she met her partner, Liev Schrieber, they quickly decided to start a family, welcoming Sasha in 2007.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to parent and guide my children through life," Naomi reflects. "It's a privilege to witness their growth and support them in their unique paths."
And this is the part most people miss... Naomi's family dynamic is a testament to the power of co-parenting. Despite their separation in 2016, Naomi and Liev have maintained a strong friendship and a united front for their children.
"We've chosen to prioritize kindness and respect in our co-parenting journey," Naomi explains. "It's not always easy, but we're committed to putting our children first."
As her children grow, Naomi's hopes for them remain steadfast. She wants them to find contentment, embrace their individuality, and navigate the world with compassion.
