How do I send money to TDCJ inmate trust fund? ›

MONEY ORDERS or CASHIER'S CHECKS made payable to “Inmate Trust Fund for Offender Name and Number” 1. You may obtain deposit slips from offender or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060 2.

Call (936) 438-8990 and provide inmate TDCJ number, inmate name, your name, amount of deposit, and the date it was sent. We will only verify this information to the sender.

If an inmate asks you to put “money on his book” so he can make commissary purchases there are several ways you can do it; You can MAIL in a money order or cash. We highly recommend that you don't send cash through the mail. Personal checks are not accepted.

Will the incarcerated individual know who sent him/her the funds? In most states, the incarcerated individual is notified as to who sent the money.

When can TDCJ inmates make phone calls? ›

Phones are available from 5:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m., unless conditions dictate a change. Tablet phone hours may differ. Calls are limited to 30 minutes. You will hear a warning message one minute before being disconnected.

TDCJ will allow calendars. Planners are denied in Federal prisons and several other correctional facilities. Blank Books and Journals not permitted by TDCJ and some other facilities (available at commissary). Magazine Subscriptions are sent to prisons by the magazine publisher and almost universally acceptable.

You can send a money order and/or cashier's checks made payable to Inmate Trust Fund – no fees apply. It is REQUIRED that you include the inmate's full name, jail ID/booking number, date of birth. Please also include the sender's name and return address.

The term “money on the books” is used because prisoners are not allowed to have actual cash on their person, so each inmate has an inmate account. In fact, cash is considered contraband and not allowed by the prison.

People in federal prison have bank-type accounts that they can use to buy things from the prison commissary. You can deposit money into a federal inmate's account electronically or through a postal money order by mail.

Once your phone number is successfully registered with TDCJ, you will need to set up your Securus online account at https://securustech.online/#/login. You will then need to add funds to your AdvanceConnect account and you are ready to receive phone calls.
