How do I register for Personal Internet Banking?

You only need to register once to get access to HSBC Online and Mobile Banking.

Please make sure you have any of the following4:

  • An HSBC account with ATM or Phone Banking service
  • An HSBC credit card with ATM service
  • An HSBC MPF or ORSO Defined Contribution Scheme account

Get your access to Online and Mobile Banking in 5 simple steps

Step 1

Download and launch the latest version of the HSBC HK App. Select ‘Log on‘ and then select ‘No, register now‘ to continue to register.

Step 2

Select 'Account details and one-time verification code' and choose a way to verify your identity

Step 3

Provide your HSBC account details and identity document

Step 4

Complete SMS verification

Then, you will be asked to set up the following:

  • Username: It is a unique identification for you to log on to HSBC HK App or HSBC Online Banking
  • Password: You will need to use it to set up HSBC HK App or log on to HSBC Online Banking
  • Security question and answer: You have to set up a security question and answer, which can help you reset your password in the future. Please select a question and answer that you can remember
  • 'Mobile Banking PIN': Finally, you can set up 6-digit 'Mobile Banking PIN'. You will use this PIN to log on and verify transactions on HSBC HK App.

Tip:

If you do not own an HSBC account, you can open one via HSBC HK App and get access to Online and Mobile Banking right away. Check out the guideline for mobile account opening on HSBC website.

Remarks

  1. There is no charge from us if you pay money to, or receive money from accounts from other banks via FPS, but other banks may have different charging policies.
  2. HSBC Global Transfers is an instant transfer to self-named or third-party overseas HSBC accounts exclusively available to HSBC Global Private Banking, HSBC Premier Elite, HSBC Premier and HSBC One customers. It is free of charge to HSBC Global Private Banking, HSBC Premier Elite and HSBC Premier customers exclusively. Please refer here for the list of supported countries.

3. The services of changing credit limit and applying for Octopus Automatic Add-Value Service are applicable to credit card only.

4. Associated PIN or SMS One Time Passcode (OTP) required.

5. If your identification documentation number is six characters or fewer, or your date of birth records held by HSBC are incomplete, you will not be automatically registered for eStatements and eAdvices.
