Correction: January 3, 2020
Outback has offered this deal in years past but has not yet confirmed it’ll be available again in 2020. The season starts in February, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out!
Original Story: January 2, 2020
Don’t follow NASCAR races? Well, you’re about to become a NASCAR superfan if a free Bloomin’ Onion is exactly what you need in your life. Outback Steakhouse is bringing back the chance to get their signature appetizer for free this year, and yes, it’s all thanks to the racing company.
No pressure or anything, but it actually all depends on NASCAR racer Kevin Harvick who is sponsored by the Aussie-themed food chain. Any time he finishes in the top 10 in a NASCAR Cup Series race, Outback will give away free Bloomin’ Onions on the Monday immediately following it.
All you have to do is say “Bloomin’ Monday” to your server to get ahold of the crispy delight free of charge. Like all things too good to be true, there's a slight catch: You also have to make a purchase. Honestly, that shouldn’t be too hard with other app options like cheese fries and mac and cheese bites to devour–not to mention literally everything else on their menu.
This isn’t the first time Harvick has raced to bring free Bloomin’ Onions to all, and it hopefully won’t be the last. He's been doing it for years now. Based on Harvick’s track record, it seems like he does a pretty good job of making it into the top 10.
The 2020 NASCAR season starts in February and runs through November 8, so there are plenty of opportunities for Harvick to make us proud and our stomachs full. If the next decade brings nothing but free Bloomin’ Onions, we're here for it.
