What is the difference between a safety meeting and a toolbox meeting? ›

A toolbox talk is more likely to get workers involved during the presentation and make it a conversation/demonstration. Another key difference is found in the duration. A toolbox talk is meant to be short (only 5–10 minutes) while a safety meeting tends to be longer.

A pre-meeting allows the chairperson or presenter to walk through the meeting material with selected attendees separately in a safe environment. Questions and issues can be discussed and the meeting material and attendees can be altered in advance of the important meeting to make the outcome more successful.
