Set your watch's time and date - Android (2024)

On your Wear OS smartwatch, you can change your clock’s settings, including the date, time and time zone.

Important: The steps below are for Wear OS and may vary based on your manufacturer, device and software version.

Change the time on your watch

  1. If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings Set your watch's time and date - Android (1).
    • If you don't find it straight away, swipe left.
  4. Tap System Set your watch's time and date - Android (2) Date and time Set your watch's time and date - Android (3) Choose your time settings.

Change which time shows

  • To show the same time on your watch and phone:
    1. Turn on Automatic date and time.
  • To show the local time:
    1. Turn off Automatic date and time.
    2. Turn on Automatic time zone.
  • To set the time manually:
    1. Turn off Automatic date and time and Automatic time zone.
    2. Set the date, time or time zone.

Change the time's format

  1. If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings Set your watch's time and date - Android (4).
    • If you don't find it straight away, swipe left.
  4. Tap System Set your watch's time and date - Android (5)Date & time.
  5. Scroll down and turn onUse 24-hour format.

If the time or date on your watch is wrong

Make sure that your phone and watch are connected

If your watch and phone are disconnected, your watch might show the wrong time.

When your watch and phone aren’t connected, you’ll notice DisconnectedSet your watch's time and date - Android (6).

To reconnect them, try these suggestions.

Update the time on your phone

If the time on your phone is wrong, it might be wrong on your watch too.

Set the time zone manually on your watch

  1. If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings Set your watch's time and date - Android (7).
    • If you don't find it straight away, swipe left.
  4. Tap System Set your watch's time and date - Android (8)Date & time.
  5. Scroll down and tapSet time zone.
    • If you can't tap it, your watch already shows the time zone that you're in. To change it, turn offAutomatic time zone.
  6. Tap the time zone that you want to use.
