Natural gas worldwide
Following a trend of increased natural gas production worldwide, natural gas production in the United States has strongly increased since the early 2000s. As demand for primary energy grows, global production of natural gas has risen more steadily overall in comparison to the United States alone. Total global natural gas production has increased to record levels in 2021, while similar trends were also seen in U.S. consumption and exports.
