ABOUT THE DIGITAL NOL CARD
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) aims to provide its customers with flexibility when buying tickets for public transport in Dubai. From the Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram to water taxis and RTA buses, you can use the card to commute to different parts of the city. Thanks to swift changes and the adoption of modern technology, the RTA has also made using and recharging your e-Nol card much easier.
The Roads and Transport Authority continues to adopt innovative digital technology to facilitate loyal customers. The virtual Nol card for Huawei phones was a groundbreaking collaboration between the RTA and Huawei Consumer Business Group.
However, RTA recently signed an agreement with Samsung Gulf Electronics. This agreement aims to facilitate the use of digital nol cards on Samsung smart devices through the nol payment platform (nolPay App).

HOW DOES THE DIGITAL NOL CARD WORK?
The answer to ‘how to use digital nol card’ is simple. This card enables payment through Huawei and Samsung smartphones. Users can download the GCC’s first digital nol card on the nol Pay mobile app via the HUAWEI AppGallery or Playstore for Samsung. Just download the app, create your ID and start availing Nol card e-services.
You can then start using the card. The app works with Huawei Wallet to pay for public transport tickets or pay on the go. You can also recharge the digital card directly through the app.
By downloading the nolPay app, Samsung users can conveniently make cashless transactions or pay on the go by simply tapping their smartphone or smartwatch. Additionally, the digital nol card can be used at various retail shops, groceries, public parks, museums, and other participating locations.
NOL PAY APP FEATURES
Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently introduced new features through a revamped Nol Pay app. These new features align with the official payment platform’s aim to make transportation easier for residents and tourists in Dubai.
These features include:
- Users have the convenience of easily topping up their balance at any time, from any location, and on all platforms, enabling them to recharge their nol card through the app.
- By linking their RTA account with their digital ID account, users can conveniently apply for and renew personalised nol cards using the app.
- To simplify the registration process for unidentified nol cards, users can now easily log in using their digital ID accounts.
- The app provides the functionality to track the status of applications and receive notifications, ensuring that users are kept well-informed about the progress of their applications.
WHICH SERVICES CAN I PAY FOR?
All RTA transport methods that accept Nol card payments also allow the digital card. This means you can use it to buy tickets for the Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, Dubai water taxis and other public transport services in the emirate. These cards can be used at merchant stores that accept Nol payments.

HUAWEI WATCH 3 and 3 Pro users can use their HUAWEI Wallet to top up their digital Nol cards and pay on the go.
