A Nol card is like a credit card that holds either a balance or a specific season ticket for travelling on a lot of the public transport in Dubai including the Metro, buses and the tram.

With your nol card you can travel on Dubai's Metro, Buses and Water Buses which have stations located at different zones. Depending on the number of zones you travel, the fare will be calculated and automatically deducted from your e-purse. During your journey you can make transfers across Bus and Metro.
The Dubai Metro runs seven days a week, and metro stations are open from: Monday to Thursday: 5am to 12am (midnight)Friday: 5am to 1am (next day)Saturday: 5am to 12am (midnight)
It can be recharged for a maximum of 10 journeys and the initial cost of the card is 2 AED ( US$ 0.50). It can be purchased in any ticketing machine. Silver Card: Card price is 25 AED ( US$ 6.80) and includes 19 AED ( US$ 5.20) credit. This is the recommended option for tourists.
The Nol Card, which comes with a balance of AED 19 (US$ 5), is perfect for a tourist's requirement. You can also recharge your Nol Card with any amount, starting from AED 5, at any Dubai Metro station and select bus stops.
You can buy your ticket at the ticket offices in airport stations. The cost depends on how many zones you travel but is extremely affordable. Try the Nol card. It can be charged up with credit and there are different types of cards available to meet individual passenger needs.
The ride from DXB Airport to Burj Khalifa – Dubai Mall Metro Station lasts around 25 minutes. You'll also need a Nol Card to pay for your subway ticket. Hence, if you buy a Red Ticket, you'll pay 6 AED(1.50€/1.50$), while if you settle on a Silver Card, your ticket will cost 5 AED(1.26€/1.26$).
Ensure your nol blue card is not used by anyone other than you. If you lose your nol blue card, call the RTA customer service at 800 90 90 to report the loss immediately.
