SERIOUS FLAVOR:

Zhug is a vibrant, spicy & aromatic herb and chilli hot sauce you can use to add a burst of flavor to anything. Similar to chimichurri, salsa verde, pesto, or chermoula, with lots of jalapeno chile, cilantro, parsley, garlic, lemon and olive oil, and the spices cardamom and cumin, giving it a Middle Eastern flavor profile.

YOUR NEW GO-TO SAUCE:

The medium heat of jalapenos, bright fresh herbs and tangy lemon juice combine to bring big flavor to anything you want to put it on. Particularly well suited for Middle Eastern cuisine such as shawarma, falafel, hummus, and grilled lamb. It is also great on any savory Western dishes as well, such as fish, chicken, beef, as a dip by itself or mixed with yogurt or mayo, as a sandwich spread, or as a marinade. Or just straight out of the jar by the spoonful.

ZHUG, A SAUCE OF MANY NAMES:

Zhug, schug, schugg, zhoug, skhug, zhugg. They’re all the same thing, just different spellings. To further complicate it, those are all based on the Hebrew name, but there are also a variety of Arabic names: sahawiq, bisbas, ma’booj, daqqus. This condiment has been used throughout the Middle East for centuries but is most closely associated with Yemen and Israel today.

Ok this just changed my life and is making my mouth SO HAPPY. O.M.G, first of all, how do they even make this stuff because when you open the jar it’s basically SO FRESH the aroma just smacks you in the face like you just made it yourself in a blender. TBH sometimes I just eat it off a spoon right out of the jar.

Chiclet

Well, this stuff is absolutely delicious and exceeded expectations! So herby and just the right amount of kick, the perfect complement to fish, chicken, or any meat I imagine.

Whitney

This is an incredible jar of hot sauce in the Middle Eastern sour zhug style. It tastes as if it were made fresh five minutes ago, with an intense, rich herbal flavor.

It’s you favorite middle eastern market or food truck in a jar. If you like zattar and things like that you’ll love this on a pita.

Daniel

Wow this stuff is so good! I love the brightness of the lemon and the spice of jalapeños. It’s a really great blend to put on sandwiches.

Mel

This luscious green sauce is way beyond just spicy. Rich with herbal goodness, a little bit of this green magic works wonders.
